Ink Transfers Q&A

Ink Transfers Q&A

Most people have questions about what ink transfers are once they start seeing designs posted. I'm going to try and explain how the ink transfers work....
All designs in the first photo are all ink transfers applied to different styles of shirts.

▪️1,2,3,4 -Gildan Softstyle shirts
and bleached.
▪️5,8 -Gildan Softstyle shirts
not bleached.
▪️6,9 -Next Level poly/cotton shirts, same design but on different colored shirts.
▪️7 -Next Level Raglan, Dark Black ink design that turned into a grey vintage look.
▪️Ink designs can be placed on certain Bella+Canvas shirts but the ink will be really faded especially on a colored shirt.

Ink transfers only adhere to the polyester fibers in the shirt when pressed. Gildan Softstyle and Next Level poly/cotton have 65% poly in them. The Next Level Raglan only has 50% poly and the Bella Canvas CVC and Triblend are only 48% poly and that is why the ink is not as vibrant.

Ink transfers cannot be applied to dark colored shirts. The design will not show up. This is why the bleaching technique exists.

Hopefully this answers the questions about ink designs. If you still have questions please feel free to send me a message.
